«That is not the case to get the feel of painting,
but to get the feel of thinking…»
There are remarkable people who are not easy to define. But, maybe, it isn’t necessary? The fifteen year old memory comes to my mind, when a young man of weird appearance who had never looked like an artist, suddenly began to show his watercolors and gouache. This story seemed to be ordinary, but..He started painting almost yesterday and suddenly decided to be an artist. Not just an ordinary painter, but surely a master! To start painting masterpieces at 32 without any idea about art seemed to be quite a strange idea at first. But amazing seemed to be the fact that just after a few months he has got the whole collection of works and now this incredible artist needs a huge hall to house the exhibition! This sudden longing for art grew before one's very eyes. He looked for images, meditated, got inspired and put the whole world of mystical signs, symbols, images and impressions on his canvases. This world was always changing and took the frame of true art. On the one hand, the audience noticed Andrew's unique style, on the other - his creativity became more fundamental. Styles, themes and compositions mixed and changed from surrealism to avant gardism, from expressionism to impressionism and abstraction, involving the young hopeful painter deeper and deeper in the world of art. Everything has mixed in the whirlpool of time. To my mind, whirlpool is the best definition for these strokes, and running soul streams frozen in the ice of space and time. The early Andrew's oeuvres like: “The Dualism”, “The Soul”, “The Vintage Car”, “The roof of the World”, “The Ranger's Revelation”, “The Creation prelude” have played vital role in the artist's creative activity. These canvases are so true and sincere that you can feel some sort of extraordinary music come from them. Every time you look at them, you meet the infinity of author's fantasy, his delicacy in details and the energy of immature painter.
In a little while exhibitions, TV shows, and newspaper articles were to follow. Today Andrew has organized nine personal exhibitions, and what is really interesting - for him success wasn't the reason for narcissism, but a new motivation for self-development. This artist can suddenly disappear for months, and then arise again with a new flash of emotions and feelings. Andrew Karablin doesn't keep his works, they are interesting for people and often bought in short time. It seems that the artist is talented not only in art but also in entrepreneurship. Maybe he is also a visionary?... Another way of expression for Andrew is poetry. This is another way to find himself, to enter the world of wonderful creativity and life philosophy. All this can help us to understand him. These verses describe his many - sided nature.
“I'm burning like a candle in the church,
From day to day...
But endless road of wish will end,
In sudden way...
When I'll face the Heaven
Drunk and kind...
In sinner's clothes and with the wise man's mind”
